Week Summary - This week was all about the anticipation of Obama's stimulus plan. There are dozens of stocks that could benefit from the infrastructure build-up, an ETF like (FLM) or (IGF) is probably the easiest way to go without doing extensive research on each company. Health care stands to benefit also, with (GILD) and (CELG) being the most popular choices for biotech. I also like the generic drug stocks like (TEVA), and electronic medical records like (MDRX). As far as alternative energy goes an ETF is also easier here. There is continued pessimism about retail and banks, I would just stay away for now, even shorting the sector is risky because the government could pump in more money to the banks at any time elevating the stocks. China sounds good to me, there are several good ETF's to pick from, (FXI), (GXC). Other individual stocks to look at, (MCD), (AAPL), (DV), (XOM), (CVX), and Gold (GLD) and (GDX).
a summary of various stock recommendations from various sources.
